Cheap drawing paper vs Quality Drawing Paper?
I know that the quality of different colored pencils, paints, drawing pencils can make a big difference when drawing (ex. prismacolor vs crayola). With higher quality drawing papers, I know that there are different tooth “depths” and things like that but what if I am drawing on drawing paper that I got from Wal-Mart (Brand = mead). Is the quality of the paper just as important? The reason I ask is because I was PLANNING on doing a sketch on my Mead paper and then doing the real drawing on my Strathmore but I got really into the sketch on the Mead paper. When I started coloring with my prismacolors, I got a lot of the “white dot” effect where the tooth isn’t completely filled in. Have I just not put on enough layers or is it the quality of the paper???
Aw, dude! Don’t EVER color on thin paper with ink! Make a sketch on the thin paper, then trace it onto the good Strathmore drawing pad (not sketch, drawing). Then start coloring. It requires patience, but it’s worth it!
